C Beginner Sewing Class Wed. May 27, 2026

Wednesday, 1-4 pm with Gopi Flick

No experience is necessary and all materials and sewing machine will be provided for students.

Learn to use a sewing machine in three hours.Students will start with the basics of how to work a sewing machine, practice sewing straight lines, stay-stitching and chain-piecing using 1/4 inch seam allowances.

For Your safety and the safety of others:

CLOSED-TOE SHOES ARE REQUIRED

Long hair will need to be restrained

If you are ill or have been ill within a week of class date, Please do not attend.

Each student will leave the class with a small project they made.

Students must be at least 12 years old to attend. Minors must be accompanied by an adult chaperone (ideally taking the class as well).

Each Beginning sewing class covers the same material, so no need to sign up for multiple classes

Class fees are nonrefundable but can be transferred to another person or to a new date. Contact NFsewinfcenter@gmail.com if you need to make a change.

North Florida Sewing Center 826 NW 23 Ave, Gainesville, FL 32609 We share space with Wesley United Methodist Church. Park on the west side of the Church. Walk in front of the church, through the courtyard. Then follow the sidewalk to the right. The Center will be on the left at the end of the short hallway.
